November 1975. A little girl named Miranda Larkin comes home from school to find her mother gone. Jane's things are where they always are, even her wallet is in its usual place in the hallway. The house shows no signs of a struggle and no signs of intrusion. The first and only suspect is Jane's husband, criminal lawyer Dan Larkin. A brilliant professional, he knows how to make a fool of the police. There is no evidence to link him to the crime, so the case remains unsolved and forgotten... Until the remains of Jane Larkin are found eighteen years later. The investigation is reopened, and Miranda and her brothers Alex and Jeff have to decide whose side they are on and whether they believe their father is (not) guilty of murder.
