Hope, a divorced young woman who owns a bakery founded by her grandmother Roz, lives near Boston with her daughter. But due to financial and personal problems, Hope feels unhappy and lonely. Once a grandmother asks her granddaughter to find out what happened to their family, which she had never mentioned before. Fulfilling her request, the girl learns about the dramatic fate of her grandmother, who had to flee France from the horrors of war and the Holocaust.
