The intention of stories about Woodgrove and its inhabitants is to nurture—among children and adults alike—non-violent communication based on mutual respect and acceptance of diversity. Emotions inform us about our needs and about what the characters of the story are experiencing at any given moment. We encourage adult readers to let these tales inspire them to talk with children about what they feel and what is alive in them. This will help you get to know your children better—and yourselves as parents or caretakers. The tales touch on specific themes such as respect, acceptance, sharing, openness… They can serve as a support during a conversation with your children when you encounter difficulties in communication.
